COVID-19 Policy & Terms

Parents, caregivers, and participants are required to complete a self assessment of themselves and/or their children 24 hours prior to participation of YAMA scheduled events. This assessment will cover new policies and confirm your health status before you attend a YAMA scheduled event or booking for child care or doula services. 

Please also check for the presence of symptoms prior to drop off or start of scheduled session. In response to our changing world and the COVID - 19 pandemic, YAMA Family Wellness is dedicated to keeping clients and staff healthy and safe.

If you or your child are displaying any symptoms of illness (common cold, influenza, COVID - 19, or any other respiratory disease);
• get tested for Covid-19 at any testing site
• keep everyone at home until results are received (usually 48 hours)
• do not come for care nor for a scheduled session prior to 14 days after being in contact with anyone who has been sick, or after travelling outside of Canada.

If you or your child test positive, please alert YAMA and follow health and safety officials recommendations and maintain self isolation for the time period indicated. Until the symptoms resolve and health care officials have deemed you are clear for child care interaction, please remain at home. Drop off and pick up occur outside to ensure physical distancing. Avoid close contact and other traditional greetings. 

In accordance with WorkPlace BC, YAMA is committed to hosting groups with a maximum of 6 participants. 

Child care:
YAMA will adhere to the policies in place for children attending VSB schools. These include: children will be asked to refrain from touching each other, avoid direct face-to-face interaction, and practice 2 meter distancing when possible. Parents and caregivers are asked to respect 2 meter distancing  when encountering  other parents/caregivers and their children. Please provide a mask, hand sanitizer, and label all personal items. 

Postpartum Care:
Doula will wear clean clothing, take off shoes, frequently wash hands, and wear a mask and/or a face shield when in close contact with infants. Doula agrees to wear additional PPE if required and provided by the client. 

Group Classes:
We ask that all participants respect the 6 participant maximum and try to be from the same household or bubble. practice a minimum of 2 meter distancing. 

All classes and child care will be performed outdoors or under covered open spaces outside. Participants and caregivers will wash hands or use hand sanitizer at the start of their session together, before eating, and any other times outlined by YAMA.  Participants shall supply their own reusable bottle of water, mask, hand sanitizer, wet wipes, and/or other personal hygiene supplies. 

YAMA and participants are to provide their own clean reusable masks, towels, hand and equipment sanitizer for individual use.
